Online Auctions

With the dawn of the modern age, and the technological boom, auctioneers and buyers alike have had to adapt and adopt in regards to technology.

Nowadays all of our sales are made available to be viewed online with pictures uploaded for each and every lot, as well as a whole host of new bidding methods being made available to buyers.
There are now three different types of auction you may find on our website:

Live only:

This is the traditional method of selling where you can attend in person or leave commission bids with the auctioneer. Fewer and fewer of our sales now operate in this way without any interaction with internet bidders.

Live online:

This form of auction retains the traditional method of selling as with live only sales, but brings the added benefit of buyers being able to place bids online in real time as the auction proceeds. The auctioneer is mic'd up and assisted by an online operator who relays the auctioneers current bid price to the online marketplace. Then those bidding from home, holiday or even hospital can hear the auctioneer, view the lot images and place a quick bid before the hammer falls. It doesn't quite have the same buzz as being here in person, but we know you can't always make it every week!

Online timed:

Many of our Commercial sales are now held as timed online auctions rather than in the traditional manner. This method of selling provides a more automated bidding experience and allows bids to be left in advance or made on the day of closing as the sale progresses. This type of sale allows clients to bid online without attending the premises and is often a more convenient method of sale. As with all our sales, viewing in person is still recommended and made available at times as advertised on the sale information page of our website.

Since introducing online auctions our UK client base has dramatically increased together with the addition of buyers from Asia, Europe, Oceania & The Americas.
