We are pleased to offer a great and varied selection in this sale. The sale includes the remaining contents of 3 cellars of Gentlemen formerly in the trade in which we found a number of delights some rare and mostly highly regarded. In addition we also have numerous other entries from deceased estates and cancelled orders.

We start with a large range of Spirits, some intended for a Spar shop including many familiar brands, Bell’s, Grant’s, Whyte & Mackay, Teacher’s, Jameson, Famous Grouse, Aberlour, Glenfiddich, Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort, Courvisier, Absolut, Vladivar, Smirnoff, Malibu, Sourz, Baileys and more.

For the collectors and connoisseurs, we have some vintages going back over one hundred years such as 2 bottles of Croizet Bonaparte 1906 cognac, 2 bottles Exshaw 1935 Cognac, a Maillac 1928 Armagnac, Martell  Extra Fine & Cordon Argent discontinued cognacs circa 1960’s, a Dewars White Label circa late 1930’s, a Lamb’s old Navy Rum labelled by the Ministry for Food in November 1947, a Long John whisky circa 1940’s and a Myer’s Planters Punch circa 1940’s/50’s. Added to this an old Chartreuse and Benedictines for good measure as well as collectables & novelties such as a Cragganmore special edition 14yr old malt, the Johnnie Walker Swing bottle, The Belle of Lincoln Jack Daneils large decanter, Jim Beam coffee grinder decanters, Bell’s Commemorative decanters and a wide range of miniatures.

We are pleased to offer our best entry of vintage ports to date this time. We have dozens of Taylor’s 1977 & 1970 but also a range of others vintages from many if the different port houses like Warres, Dows, Silval, Martinez, Portal, Smith Woodhouse, Noval, Niepoort, Kopke, Delaforce, Roeda & Fonseca. Again we found some older vintages too like a Cockburn’s 1927 said to be the best vintage of the 20th Century, a Cockburns 1912 said to be the next best and a Sandeman 1934 still in good condition.

Amongst the better known labels we also discovered some old cellar artifacts like an old bottle of Hall’s Supreme Tonic Restorative, a wooden crate of Whiteway’s Cyder circa 1950’s, some old bottles with no labels but the family says it was something special! & 10 small bottles of Courage  Presentation ale specially brewed for their many friends – a limited trade only beer & I was told this was because their Director said that you should brew the best beer you can as well as that which sells best.

There is a range of pudding wines again including Chateau d’Yquem Sauternes 1956/1958 & 1963, some younger sauternes from other Chateaux 1996-2006, the last of the Chateau Changyu Golden Valley Icewine 2009 and some sweet white Bordeaux.

We found a number of vintage and other champagnes again including Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 1966 & 1971, Dom Perignon 1976, Moet 1981, Taitinger Millesime 1990, Veuve Cliquot and others, plus champagne and ice buckets too.

Followed by the classic red wines! This time we have uncovered some rare treats including some which are given as examples as to why claret is laid down to age. The older bottles include 3 Richebourg 1945 Bourgogne, 3 Pommard 1949 Burgundy, a Chateau Margaux 1954 & a Chateau La Mission Haut Brion 1959 an outstanding vintage. Also of note is 4 bottles of Chateau Cardonnieux blanc 1948 Premier Grand Cru Leognan.

There are bottles of Chateau Cantenac Brown 1969, Chateau Haut Brion 1968, Mouton Cadet 1966 Pauillac, Chateau Palmer 1988 Margaux, Chateau Lagrange & Beychevelle 1986 and others. Of the younger wines we have some Dominus 1995 Napa Valley of the same family as Chateau Petrus, some Chateau D’Angludet 2005, Chateau Cantemerle 2005, Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste 2002, Chateau Puygueraud 2000, Chateau Les Ormes De Pez 2004, Chateau Notton 2000 and more.

There are some good chardonnay White Burgundy at the end of the sale too.

Not forgetting we also have a the range of modern red & white wines like Malbec from Argentina and France, Shiraz from Australia and South Africa, Rioja, Chianti, Hardy’s, Oxford Landing, Arniston Bay, Barefoot, Yellow Tail, Jacobs Creek, Gallo,  Blossom Hill and a large consignment of Bonpas 2013 Cote Du Rhone for the more everyday consumption!
