Spring Sale of Wines and Spirits

This sale includes further collections of Fine Wines and Whisky from a number of private family collections and house clearances.

We are pleased to follow up our successful Winter Sale which had many collectable and Rare bottles of Whisky with further fine examples including a Macallan over 25 year old Anniversary Malt, a number of Gordon & McPhail Connoisseurs Choice malts, Whyte & Mackay 21yr old & Coronation Decanter, Johnnie Walker Blue Label and a number of older examples of Glenlivet, VAT 69, Glenfiddich, Bell’s celebration bells, Royal Salute and more.

Amoungst many fine Cognacs we have found an example from 1870 which was passed down the family. This just predates the Phylloxera Vastatrix louse outbreak  which arrived in the Cognac region about 1875 and killed off many vineyards. These were replanted with different resistant varieties so changing the taste of Cognacs made since. This change along with earlier distiller’s methods gave early Cognacs a drier and more organic flavour, so I am told! A real rarity!

We also found some good examples of Cognacs and Armagnacs including a 1960’s Martell and more modern Hennessy XO, Remy VSOP and others.

In the mix we also have spirits and liqueurs from Turkmenistan, Uganda, Cuba, Ukraine and Western Europe. See the catalogue online for more details with images.

Followed by a range of Ports with vintages from 1955, 1970, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1985 & 1986 as well as a range of Aged Tawny and late bottled vintage Ports some with boxes. There are a few bottles of Madeira and dessert wines for those with a sweeter tooth too.

The selection of Fine & Vintage Champagnes is not large but includes quality from Krug, Dom Perignon, Taittinger, Piper Heidsieck and others.

Once again there are many Clarets from fine French Chateau like Margaux 1949, Lafite Rothschild 1987, Croizer Bages 1953, Talbot 1957, 1972, 1973, 1983 & 1999, Lagrange 2002, Palmer 1964, Haut Brion 1994 and many others. We have some Burgundies, Chateauneuf du Pape and a selection from Musar, Napa Valley, Barolo and a range of younger rose, white and reds to suit all tastes.

For the enthusiasts there is a Eurocave Confort wine storage cabinet, gift sets with glasses, Lord Nelson Ships Decanter, collectables and a vintage wooden Haig’s Gold Label crate.
